Here is a distinct fusion of Korean and Italian-style pasta! The Bulgogi Kimchi Spaghetti combines the spiciness of kimchi with the sweet and savory bulgogi beef. It is absolutely a flavor burst! If you like fusion food, this recipe is a must-try.
Ingredients:
90 g cabbage kimchi (fully ripened, sliced)
500 g sirloin steak
30 g brown sugar
5 g chopped garlic
20 g honey
170 g Goody pro tagliatelle pasta
15 g green Thai chili (sliced)
5 g spring onion (sliced)
3 g toasted sesame seeds
15 g vegetable oil
5 g soy sauce (jin ganjang)
4 g sesame oil (optional)
Instructions:
Marinate bulgogi for a few hours or overnight.
Start boiling water for pasta. Add salt and oil before adding the pasta.
Cook the pasta according to package directions but reduce cooking time by 1 minute to keep it very al dente.
While the pasta is cooking, cut fully ripened kimchi into strips. If it’s not fully ripened, you can add a drizzle of vinegar.
Cut the bulgogi into thin strips or smaller pieces.
Slice the jalapeno peppers.
Once it’s done, drain it and rinse with cold water to reduce stickiness.
Heat a non-stick pan on medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil.
Add the kimchi and sauté for 2 minutes until it becomes soft.
Add the bulgogi to the pan and continue sautéing until the bulgogi is mostly cooked.
Lower the heat, add the pasta, and toss it with the kimchi and bulgogi.
Add 1 teaspoon of soy sauce and mix again. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more soy sauce if needed. Add more kimchi liquid or a sprinkle of water if the pasta is too dry. Optionally, add 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil for extra flavor.
Add the sliced jalapenos, give it a final toss, and turn off the heat.
